Here was a find I’ll admit I kept because it reminds me of myself. Found it in the bottom of a box lot bought at an auction for $2 five years ago. When you lift the head, it’s a pencil. Blackened eye and all, she wears a little tuxedo, always celebrating life and here to find the joy.

A neat thing happened…ran into an old friend back from the Filoni days whose an architect and interior designer, Karen Garlanger. She saw a hat in action and wants one made from her discontinued fabric memos. She’s an amazing creative force, so I’m thrilled to produce one of my originals for her. 
I love this new show: Picker Sisters. These two are amazing designers and not so shabby on the eyesight either. Finding others who love rust (or patina as we call it) are like family to me.

This hat was a pair of denim trousers in its first life, now a cloche style gatsby hat with white top stitching and white flower hat pin.
Remember Flax, an apparel company that featured high-end linen fabrics. This hat was a Flax jacket in its first life, now an engineers style cap made for summer nights down at the beach.
